Someone just sent me a Microsoft Publisher file (*.pub). I don’t have Publisher installed on my computer, but I thought that, given there is an Excel Viewer, there must be a Microsoft Publisher Viewer. If you don’t want to go and buy Publisher, the only option seems to be to download a free 60 day trial. Catch is that you have to go through a complex registration process and it only seems to take registrations from United States.
The result I found was a free online converter at pdfonline.com that converts .pub to .pdf. The result wasn’t perfect, but at least I can see most of what is in the .pub file.
