Use The Action Machine to Focus

There's a great tool I've used for years to force myself to focus on one thing at a time: the Action Machine by Derek Franklin. I choose my one to three things to get done that day (see this post for more on that) then set the order of the focus blocks. A "focus block" is simply a block of time focussed on only one thing. Get Things Out of Your Head

You know the feeling... you're thinking about so many things, they're swirling around in your head, you just can't concentrate. The simplest solution to this is to just write them down. I know you've probably heard this advice many times, but maybe this time it'll click :) Take five minutes and with a pad and pen, just write. Don't censure your words, just write.
